Hot Toddy

Not enough has been made of HT lately. He’s worked so hard on this website, and he also made a great to-do over my birthday last weekend. He made me Robert Duvall’s mother’s crab cakes, and also a cherry cheesecake from scratch. 100% organic for both. That’s love.

He works so hard to support this family. He puts in tons of overtime without ever complaining. He comes home from a ten hour workday and tinkers with my blog for me. If he happens upon a pile of dirty dishes, he does them. He does more than his fair share of laundry. He grocery shops. He helps with homework if he’s not working. He takes the kids to activities whenever he can. He makes their lunches every single morning while I cover getting them dressed/washed/brushed.

He listens to me. He knows exactly who I mean when I mention blogger friends by name or anonymous handle.

I’m just scratching the surface here. So much I can’t even tell you.  So much is just us. These kids we have. How is it possible? Seriously. How does a kid come out of a person’s body? The whole miracle of life thing. If you look at it too hard, it is mind boggling.

I have never met a person more steadfast. He does what he says he’ll do. He does not play games. He does not make you wonder.

Wait, I take that back.

I do wonder, how did I ever get so lucky?Hot Toddy

  1. Aww…what a sweet tribute for someone who sounds like a darling man.

See, here’s the thing, this is the single most thing we have in common. We both are married to amazing men. Maybe we just got lucky, or maybe it was meant to be, but we both are blessed.

    and to love.

I have one too. When I think about how blessed I am in the husband department, it helps me remember that I must be a great person. I honestly think we may have been together before in another life, and that when we met we recognized each other. I wish that everyone could have what we have.

awww…and you forgot to mention that he looks HOT in a blonde wig! How lucky are you. Hip, hip horay for HT.

  6. naomi says:

Yeah, he’s awesome. You two are very sweet, but not in an “Excuse me I just have to barf in this plant beside me here” kinda way. Nope, you guys are sweet in a “Look at how much they give to each other. I think I’ll be less whiny to my husband tomorrow and notice aloud when he collects all of the garbage from the car.” kind of way.

  7. Three cheers for HT! I want one!

  8. Kathryn says:

Well that would be that Law of Attraction thing, like attracts like, that’s how you got so “lucky!”

Please thank HT personally for all he does for such a wonderful family. Wish we could clone him.

I am thinking about you guys on your trip.

    LOVE.

C’mon, Michelle…I think you know the answer to your last question.

    Nothing to do with luck.

    Nothing.

  10. Deb says:

What a lovely couple you are! And what a cutie he is.
