I’m with Drama Mama: my schoolteachers always encouraged my creativity — it was the other kids who tried to squelch everyone’s individuality. And my daughter is lucky enough to go to the most fantastic school there ever was (and best of all, it’s a public school, so we don’t have to pay tuition!).
Beautiful! May all children have such feelings about camp–and may schools somehow get there, despite the terrible funding cutbacks.

The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise. -Alden Nowlan, poet, novelist, and playwright (1933-1983)
Me thinks Riley needs a camp-like school Sept-June.

I love camp. The right camp. I also love school. As long as it’s the right one.

That’s as profound as it can be. Sad statement about school, though.
