Doctor Nancy Snyderman and Beth Maloney, author of Saving Sammy talked with the dreamy Matt Lauer, about PANDAS this morning. PANDAS is the condition affecting our sweet boy Seth.
Snyderman boldy states, “Doctors don’t have all the answers!”
Honest and for true? They don’t?
Thanks for clearing that up Dr. Nancy.
Imagine! A child’s behavior might actually be a clue to an underlying biomedical issue.
Now that’s something worth considering.
Imagine that. I swear, if more physicians trusted the parents to know their own children (and if more parents trusted themselves) we’d be better off. We recently discovered that Lola’s difficulty sleeping is a result of a seriously compromised adrenal gland thanks to undiagnosed food allergies that have depleted her pancreatic system and allowed an overgrowth of yeast and pathogenic bacteria in her gut. Since we started treatment last week she’s gone from waking every two hours all night long every single night to waking once around midnight and calmly being led back to bed. Ahhhhhhh……
Thanks for your continued efforts to advocate for families everywhere. It is much appreciated!
I’m surprised to hear the Today Show acknowledged it, really.
My favorite part of the Today show clip was the emphasis on how well Sammy is now. I see the same triumph for Seth. Totally see it.
I find Dr. Nancy condescending and patronizing. I’ve written to the Today show about her, cause if she comes on one more time and tells us all that EVERY vaccine is safe and comes from God, I’ll just hurl something at the YV I swear.
Great blog Michelle.
That would be TV, not YV. What would a YV be???
I had strept B in utero and I truly believe that was the source of my son’s problems. But I have never read anything about the Strept B infection causing that.
“Doctors don’t have all the answers!”
Unless, the question is about vaccine safety. Then Dr. Snyderman apparently has all the answers.
Sigh. At a loss for words.
Hope and frustration are in a tug of war right now.
I’ve not heard of Dr. Nancy before, but then I do live a rather sheltered existence.
Hi there, Michelle! I have sent this to a bunch of moms I know whose sons with autism have also recently been diagnosed with PANDAS. Augmentin. Amazing.
