Fuji Finepix s5000 It was small enough to toss in a medium purse, had some features you could play with but had the ease of point & shoot. Down side is only 3.2 megapixels but unless you are blowing up larger than 8x10 you won't need more than that. Up side - color results were outstanding and it had an optical zoom of 10x. As my father would say - that means you can take a pic of a chipmunk farting 10 yards away. Fwiw, I have the Sony Cybershot 7.2 megapixels, 4x zoom, and it's an easy to use, sharp little affordable camera. I know there are cameras out there w/ higher mega pixels and more features, but this little guy has been great for me. Have fun camera shopping. Love that 70s shot!
